Reiki is a Japanese practice of gentle, hands-on or hands-off energy work. The word joins rei, meaning universal or higher wisdom, and ki, meaning life energy. People find this page for two different reasons: some want to receive a Reiki treatment, others want to learn Reiki themselves. Both are offered here, and this page explains each so you can decide which you are looking for.
Treatment & Support

Reiki healing sessions in Delhi
In a Reiki session you lie fully clothed on a treatment couch while Taanya places her hands lightly on or just above the body in a sequence of positions from the head to the feet. There is no massage, manipulation or pressure. Most people describe warmth, a deep sense of relaxation and often a drifting, meditative state; some fall asleep. A first session includes a short conversation about what you are hoping for, around forty-five minutes of Reiki, and time to talk afterwards.
People come for stress and burnout, difficulty sleeping, emotional heaviness after a loss or a hard period, low energy, and support while recovering from illness or surgery. Reiki is a complementary practice concerned with relaxation and wellbeing. It is not a medical treatment, it does not cure disease, and it never replaces the care of your doctor. What clients most often report is feeling calmer, sleeping better in the nights that follow, and having more room to cope with whatever they are dealing with. Where someone is receiving medical or psychiatric care, Reiki is offered alongside it, and Taanya, who is also a counselling psychologist, will say if she thinks counselling or a medical opinion is the more useful next step.

Reiki classes in Delhi: Level 1, Level 2 and Master
Reiki is taught in three degrees in the Usui system. Each level is taught live, in a small group or one-to-one, and includes teaching, an attunement, supervised practice and a certificate on completion.
Level 1 (Shoden) is the foundation. You receive your first attunement, learn the history and principles of Reiki and the hand positions for a full self-treatment, and begin a daily self-practice. Most students start here simply wanting something for their own stress, sleep or emotional balance, and many find this level is where the real value of the system lives.
Level 2 (Okuden) introduces the Reiki symbols and the ability to treat other people, including distance healing. It is the level most practitioners need if they intend to work with clients, and it deepens the practice considerably. It is taken after a period of regular self-practice following Level 1, not straight afterwards.
Master level (Shinpiden) covers the master symbol, advanced techniques and, for those who wish to teach, the process of attuning others. It is a commitment rather than a weekend course and is usually taken some time after Level 2, once you have a settled practice.
An attunement is the part of Reiki that cannot be learned from a book. It is a short ceremony in which the teacher opens and aligns the student's energy channels so that they can channel Reiki themselves. Once attuned, the ability stays with you for life and does not fade with disuse, though the practice deepens the more you use it.

Reiki courses near you: in person in South Delhi or online
In-person classes are held at D-96 Anand Niketan, New Delhi 110021, near Dhaula Kuan in South Delhi. Groups are kept small so that each student receives their attunement individually and has time to practise with feedback. Students travel from across Delhi and from Gurgaon and Noida; the Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus metro station on the Pink Line is a short auto ride away.
Online classes are also offered for students elsewhere in India and abroad, taught live over video rather than through recorded material, with the attunement given at a distance. One honest note: distance attunement is debated within the Reiki tradition. Many Usui teachers hold it to be fully valid on the same basis as distance healing at Level 2; others maintain that attunement should be given in person. If in-person attunement matters to you, that is a legitimate position, and the South Delhi classes are there for exactly that reason.

Who learns Reiki
Students come from every background: doctors and nurses, teachers, corporate professionals, homemakers, students, yoga and meditation practitioners, and counsellors or therapists adding an energy modality to their existing work. Some have received Reiki, found it settling and want to understand the system from the inside. Carers and family members of someone unwell often learn it so they have something calming to offer alongside medical care. No particular belief is required; Reiki sits alongside any faith or none.

About your Reiki Master
Dr. (Hon.) Taanya Nagi trained in Reiki degrees I, II and III and went on to become a Reiki Master and teacher in the Usui lineage. She has practised and taught for more than 25 years, first during 13 years in Australia and now from her practice in South Delhi. Reiki sits within a wider practice: she holds an MA in Counselling Psychology and a Diploma in Holistic Healing and Counselling from the Holistic Living Training Institute in Melbourne, and is a certified member of the Australian Holistic Healers & Counsellors Association. That combination matters in practice, because she can tell the difference between what Reiki can help with and what needs counselling or a doctor, and will say so.

How to book a session or enrol
Whether you want to receive Reiki or learn it, the first step is a conversation. Call or WhatsApp +91-9999344415 and say which you are interested in. For a treatment, Taanya will book you in at Anand Niketan or arrange a distance session. For classes, she will explain the levels, the attunement process and the upcoming dates, and confirm fees on enquiry. There is no obligation, and if you are unsure whether to start with a session or a class, ask; most people find the answer becomes clear after a short chat.

Questions & Answers
Everything you need to know before booking your first session.
Do I need any experience to learn Reiki?+
None. Level 1 assumes no background in energy work, meditation or healing. An open mind and a willingness to practise daily in the first weeks is all that is required.
How long does each level take?+
Level 1 and Level 2 are each usually taught over two days. The Master level takes longer and is arranged individually. A gap of regular self-practice is expected between levels so the work has time to settle; the exact timing is discussed when you enrol.
Is a certificate given?+
Yes. Each level includes a printed manual, the attunement, supervised practice and a certificate on completion, issued in the Usui lineage. Reiki is not licensed by any government body in India, so the lineage and reputation of your teacher are what carry weight.
Is Reiki religious?+
No. Reiki has Japanese origins and a set of five ethical principles, but it is not a religion and requires no belief. Students and clients of every faith, and none, practise it.
Can Reiki healing or classes be done online?+
Yes. Distance Reiki sessions and live online classes with distance attunement are both offered. Views within the tradition differ on distance attunement, and if in-person attunement matters to you the South Delhi classes are the better fit.
Does Reiki replace medical treatment?+
No. Reiki is a complementary relaxation practice. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition, and you should never alter prescribed care because of it. It can sit comfortably alongside medical, psychological or psychiatric treatment.
