Australian Training and Credentials
Taanya holds a Diploma in Holistic Healing & Counselling from the Holistic Living Training Institute in Melbourne, which is Australian accredited, and is a certified member of AHHA, the Australian Holistic Healers Association. Her Anger & Stress Management certification is from the Australian Institute of Management.
Alongside the Australian qualifications she holds an MA in Counselling Psychology, certification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, and is a Reiki Master in the Usui lineage, with over 25 years of practice.
A note on titles: in Australia, psychologist is a protected title regulated by AHPRA. Taanya practises with Australian clients as a holistic counsellor and clinical hypnotherapist, not as a registered Australian psychologist. If you need a registered psychologist or a Medicare rebate, you need an AHPRA-registered practitioner in Australia, and that is worth knowing before you book anything.

Who Tends to Get in Touch
A large proportion of Australian clients are of Indian origin — first-generation migrants and their adult children. The recurring themes are recognisable: obligation to parents who are ten thousand kilometres away, guilt about the life you have built somewhere else, marriage and career expectations that make sense in one culture and not the other, and raising children who are more Australian than you are.
These are difficult to explain from scratch to a therapist with no context for them. A good deal of the value in this work is simply not having to.
Others come for the ordinary range — anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulty, stress and sleep — or specifically for holistic work such as hypnotherapy, Reiki and energy healing.

Timings Across the Time Difference
Australian eastern time runs four and a half to five and a half hours ahead of India, depending on daylight saving. In practice this works well: an early evening session in Delhi lands late evening in Sydney or Melbourne, and a morning session in Australia falls in the early hours of the Indian morning, which is generally avoided.
Perth is a shorter gap and easier still. Sessions are arranged individually around your working hours.

What Works Online
Counselling, coaching, clinical hypnotherapy and distance energy healing all translate to video. Hypnotherapy in particular often works better at home, where people relax more readily than in an unfamiliar room.
What online requires is a private space where you will not be overheard, and a reasonable connection. Where privacy at home is the obstacle, say so — it is a common problem and there are usually workable solutions.

Questions & Answers
Everything you need to know before booking your first session.
Are you a registered psychologist in Australia?+
No. Psychologist is a protected title in Australia under AHPRA registration. Taanya works with Australian clients as a holistic counsellor and clinical hypnotherapist, holding an Australian-accredited counselling diploma and AHHA membership.
Can I claim this on Medicare or private health insurance?+
No. Medicare rebates require a referral to an AHPRA-registered practitioner in Australia. Some private health funds cover counselling or hypnotherapy from recognised providers, but you should check directly with your fund rather than assume it.
What if I need urgent help?+
Online counselling across time zones is not suitable for a crisis. If you are in immediate distress or at risk, contact emergency services on 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14, which operates 24 hours a day in Australia.
Do you visit Australia?+
Taanya travels to Australia periodically for training and workshops. If you would prefer to meet in person, ask about upcoming dates — though online remains the reliable option for ongoing work.
How do payments work from Australia?+
International payment is straightforward and is arranged when you book. Please get in touch to discuss the practical details.
