Online Counselling and Therapy for Bengaluru
Bengaluru is a city of people who moved there for work and stayed for the weather, and much of what they bring to therapy is the gap between the life they built and the one they left.

“Bengaluru is a city of people who moved there for work and stayed for the weather, and much of what they bring to therapy is the gap between the life they built and the one they left.”
Dr. (Hon.) Taanya Nagi holds an MA in Counselling Psychology and a Diploma in Holistic Healing & Counselling from the Holistic Living Training Institute in Melbourne, and is a certified member of the Australian Holistic Healers & Counsellors Association (AHHCA). She practised in Australia for thirteen years before returning to India, is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, NLP Life Coach and Usui Reiki Master, and has more than twenty-five years of practice behind her. She works online with clients across India from New Delhi, in English or Hindi.
Bengaluru clients are in Whitefield and Electronic City, along the Outer Ring Road and in Sarjapur, in Koramangala, Indiranagar and HSR Layout, and increasingly in Yelahanka and the northern suburbs near the airport. Most of them did not grow up in Karnataka, and that turns out to matter more than the job title.
Treatment & Support

Why Bengaluru clients choose online
Traffic decides most things in this city. A therapist in Indiranagar is, for practical purposes, unavailable to someone living in Electronic City, and an appointment that involves Silk Board at six in the evening is an appointment that gets cancelled. Video removes the commute entirely, which for people already working a hybrid week from home is simply how the rest of their life runs.
Bengaluru has more therapists than most Indian cities, and the more useful reason to look outside it is fit rather than supply. Someone who grew up in Lucknow or Patna, works in Kannada-speaking Bengaluru in English, and wants to talk about their family in Hindi is often better served by a practitioner in the north who shares the reference points.

What Bengaluru clients come with
- «Burnout in IT and startups, where an on-call rota, a US-timed stand-up and a product launch stack on top of each other and the tiredness stops being about sleep
- «Layoff anxiety and the aftermath of an actual layoff — the sudden loss of routine, income and an identity that had been almost entirely professional
- «Living far from home: guilt about parents ageing in another state, the return-to-hometown question that never resolves, and festivals spent on a video call
- «Anxiety and panic in high performers who have never told anyone that they are not coping
- «Relationship strain in couples who both work long hours, and the specific loneliness of being single in a city where everyone is busy
- «Kannada, Tamil and Telugu families with strong expectations around marriage, a return home and grandchildren, sometimes at odds with the life the client is actually living

Sessions around Bengaluru hours
Bengaluru and Delhi share the same clock, so slots are straightforward. Early-morning and late-evening times exist for people whose working day is shaped by a client in another time zone, and weekend sessions are available. Clients on a hybrid schedule often take a session on a work-from-home day, before or after the first call.
Privacy in a shared flat or a PG is the usual practical problem. Headphones remove half the conversation from anyone in the next room. A mid-morning slot when flatmates are at work, a parked car, or a booked meeting room on campus are what clients most commonly use. Nobody has to tell flatmates or family that they are in counselling, and nothing is shared with anyone.

What is available
Counselling and psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, stress, grief and relationship difficulty. Clinical hypnotherapy for smoking, weight, phobias, sleep and performance anxiety. Couples and pre-marital counselling, including for partners from different language backgrounds managing two sets of parents. Life coaching and confidence work drawing on NLP. Distance Reiki, chakra work and EFT tapping for those who want them. Reiki training to Master level is taught online, with attunements given at a distance. All of it is delivered by video, fifty to sixty minutes at a scheduled time.

How this works
Sessions are online from New Delhi. There is no clinic in Bengaluru, and in-person appointments are only available at D-96 Anand Niketan, New Delhi 110021. Taanya is a counselling psychologist, not a psychiatrist; she does not diagnose psychiatric illness or prescribe medication. Where medication or a psychiatric assessment is indicated she will say so and refer you to a psychiatrist in Bengaluru, which is well served, with NIMHANS in the city and psychiatrists in private practice and in most large hospitals. This is a scheduled service, not a crisis one: in immediate danger, call Tele-MANAS on 14416, KIRAN on 1800-599-0019 or 112, or go to the nearest emergency department.

Questions & Answers
Everything you need to know before booking your first session.
Is there a clinic in Bengaluru?+
No. The only consulting room is at Anand Niketan in South Delhi. Bengaluru clients are seen online by video. Anyone travelling to Delhi for work or family is welcome to book an in-person session while there.
Are sessions in Hindi or English?+
Either, or a mix. Taanya does not offer sessions in Kannada, Tamil or Telugu. Most Bengaluru clients work in English all day and switch to Hindi when the subject turns to family; both are fine, and switching mid-session is normal.
How do I keep sessions private in a shared flat or PG?+
Headphones, a slot when the flat is empty, a parked car, or a booked room at work. Sessions are not recorded and are confidential. You are under no obligation to tell flatmates, colleagues or family that you are in counselling.
How many sessions will I need?+
It depends on what you bring. Focused difficulties often respond in six to twelve sessions; longstanding patterns take longer. You should have a rough estimate after two or three sessions, revised openly as the work goes on.
What if I need urgent help?+
Call Tele-MANAS on 14416 or KIRAN on 1800-599-0019, both free and available around the clock, or 112. If you cannot stay safe, go to the nearest emergency department; online counselling cannot respond to an emergency.
