What NLP Is For

Every one of us runs on a map of the world — a set of assumptions about what is possible, what people are like, what we are capable of and what will happen if we try. The map is built early, mostly without our noticing, and then quietly governs decisions for decades.

Most of the time the map is useful. Sometimes parts of it are badly out of date. You are thirty-eight and still flinching at criticism the way you did at nine. You know, intellectually, that the presentation will be fine, and you still cannot sleep the night before. The knowing and the reacting have come apart.

NLP works on exactly that gap. It aims to detect the unconscious limits in your map and modify them, largely through the deliberate use of language — because the words we use about ourselves are not a neutral description of our thinking, they are part of the machinery that produces it.

What People Bring to NLP Sessions

The common thread is a mismatch between what you understand and what you do.

  • «A belief about themselves that they can argue against on paper but cannot stop acting on
  • «A specific fear — public speaking, driving, interviews, flying — that is disproportionate and inconvenient
  • «Confidence that collapses in particular rooms or in front of particular people
  • «Procrastination and self-sabotage that survives every productivity system they try
  • «A repeating pattern in relationships or at work that they can see clearly and still walk into
  • «A goal they have set repeatedly and abandoned repeatedly, without understanding why
  • «Difficulty with a past event that no longer needs to be resolved so much as it needs to stop having a grip

How the Work Goes

NLP is more active than most talk therapy. You should expect to be asked precise, sometimes unusually specific questions, and to be given things to practise between sessions.

NLP is frequently blended here with counselling, EFT, Time Line Therapy or clinical hypnotherapy. Which combination you get depends on what you bring, not on a fixed programme.

  • «Defining the outcome properly. Not "I want more confidence" but what exactly would be different, in which situations, and how you would know it had changed.
  • «Finding the pattern. Working backwards from the reaction to the trigger, the internal commentary and the belief sitting underneath it.
  • «Examining the language. The phrases you use about yourself — always, never, I'm just the sort of person who — usually mark where the limits are.
  • «Changing the structure. Techniques such as reframing, anchoring and submodality work alter how an experience is represented internally, which changes the response it produces.
  • «Testing it. The change is checked against real situations, not just discussed in the room.
  • «Practice between sessions. This part is not optional; it is where most of the actual change consolidates.

Being Honest About What NLP Is

NLP has a mixed reputation, and some of that is earned. It has been oversold, particularly by people using it as a sales technique, and it does not have the clinical trial base that something like CBT has. You deserve to know that before you book, not after.

What it is, used properly, is a practical toolkit for interrupting stuck patterns — and in the right hands, for the right problem, it works quickly. What it is not is a treatment for serious mental illness. If you are dealing with severe depression, psychosis, an eating disorder or active suicidal thoughts, you need clinical care first, and you will be told so directly and helped to find it.

NLP and Life Coaching

Much of the life coaching offered at the centre is NLP-informed, so the two overlap. The rough distinction is that coaching is organised around a goal you are moving towards, while NLP sessions are organised around a pattern you want to interrupt. In practice people often start with one and find they need some of the other.

Frequently Asked

Questions & Answers

Everything you need to know before booking your first session.

Is NLP the same as hypnotherapy?+

No. NLP is explicitly not hypnotherapy. In NLP you remain fully alert and consciously engaged throughout. Hypnotherapy works with a relaxed, focused state and increased suggestibility. Both are offered here and they are sometimes combined, but they are separate methods.

Will I lose control or be made to do something?+

No. You are awake and in charge of the session at every point. NLP techniques do not work on someone who does not want them to, and nothing is done without your agreement.

How many sessions does NLP take?+

For a single well-defined issue — one phobia, one specific confidence problem — change can come in two to four sessions. For patterns that run through several areas of life, expect a longer piece of work. You will be given a realistic estimate after the first session.

Does NLP work for anxiety?+

It can help considerably with specific, situational anxiety — a fear tied to a particular trigger. For generalised anxiety that is present most days regardless of circumstance, counselling and structured therapeutic work should be the foundation, with NLP tools used as support rather than as the main approach.

Do I need to believe in it for it to work?+

You need to be willing to try the exercises. You do not need to believe anything in advance. Scepticism is entirely workable; refusing to do the between-session practice is not.

Are online NLP sessions as effective?+

Yes. NLP is largely conversational and observational, both of which carry well over video. Clients across Delhi NCR, elsewhere in India, and in the UK, UAE and Australia work this way.
