If you have searched for a Reiki healer or Reiki practitioner near you, this page is about receiving Reiki: what a session with Taanya involves, what people come for, what it can and cannot do, and how to book. Learning Reiki is a separate matter, covered on the Reiki Therapy and Reiki Classes in Delhi page.
Treatment & Support

What happens in a Reiki healing session
An appointment at Anand Niketan runs to roughly an hour, with around forty-five minutes of Reiki inside it. Most people describe warmth under the hands, a loosening of the breath and a depth of relaxation they had not managed on their own for some time.
- «A short conversation first. Taanya asks what has brought you, what is going on in your body and your life, and whether you are under medical or psychological care.
- «You lie fully clothed on a treatment couch. Shoes and anything tight come off; that is all. The lights are lowered and the room is quiet.
- «Taanya places her hands lightly on or just above the body in a sequence of positions, usually from the head down to the feet. There is no massage, no pressure and nothing is manipulated.
- «Each position is held for a few minutes. Your only job is to rest. Many people drift into a meditative state; some fall asleep, which is fine.
- «The session ends with a few minutes of stillness before you sit up, drink some water and say what you noticed. Taanya tells you what she observed and whether a further session seems useful.

What people come to Reiki for
What clients most often report afterwards is feeling calmer, sleeping better in the nights that follow, and having more room to cope with whatever they are dealing with. Some come once, at a difficult moment; others come regularly as maintenance.
- «Stress and burnout, where the body no longer switches off even when the work stops
- «Difficulty sleeping, or sleep that does not restore
- «Anxiety, restlessness and an overactive mind
- «Low energy and a flatness that rest does not seem to reach
- «Grief and emotional heaviness after a loss or a hard period
- «Support while recovering from illness or surgery, alongside medical care
- «A wish for emotional balance during a stretch of change or upheaval

What Reiki is not
Reiki is not a medical treatment. It does not diagnose, treat or heal any disease, physical or mental, and no such claim is made here. If you have been given a diagnosis, stay with the doctor treating you and do not stop or alter prescribed medication. Reiki is offered alongside that care, not in place of it. Because Taanya is also a counselling psychologist, she will say if she thinks counselling or a medical opinion is the more useful next step, and she will not sell you a package of ten sessions to find out.

Your first session: how to prepare
There is very little to do. Wear comfortable clothes, eat lightly beforehand, and leave your phone on silent. If you are under medical care, bring a brief note of what you are being treated for and what you take. No belief is required and scepticism is welcome; you are asked only to lie still and notice what you notice. Afterwards, drink water and avoid rushing straight back into a demanding evening.

In person at Anand Niketan, or distance Reiki online
In-person sessions are held at D-96 Anand Niketan, New Delhi 110021, a residential colony near Dhaula Kuan in South Delhi. It is a solo practice in a quiet setting, not a clinic with a waiting room. Clients come from across South Delhi, including Vasant Vihar, Chanakyapuri, Safdarjung Enclave, Hauz Khas and Defence Colony, from West Delhi via the Ring Road, and from Gurgaon, a direct drive up NH48. The Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus metro station on the Pink Line is a short auto ride away.
Distance Reiki is a standard part of the Usui system from Level 2 onward, and Taanya offers it for clients elsewhere in Delhi NCR, across India and overseas. A distance session follows the same shape: a conversation before by call or WhatsApp, an agreed time at which you lie down and rest at home, and a conversation afterwards.

About your Reiki Master
Dr. (Hon.) Taanya Nagi trained in Reiki degrees I, II and III and went on to become a Reiki Master and teacher in the Usui lineage. She has practised for more than 25 years, first during 13 years in Australia and now from her practice in South Delhi. Reiki sits within a wider training: an MA in Counselling Psychology, a Diploma in Holistic Healing and Counselling from the Holistic Living Training Institute in Melbourne, certified membership of the Australian Holistic Healers and Counsellors Association, and certification as an Advanced Pranic Healer and clinical hypnotherapist.

How to book a Reiki session
Call or WhatsApp +91-9999344415 and say you would like a Reiki healing session, in person or at a distance. Taanya will suggest a time at Anand Niketan or arrange a distance session, and confirm fees on enquiry. There is no obligation, and if you are unsure whether Reiki or counselling is the right starting point, ask; a short conversation usually settles it.

Questions & Answers
Everything you need to know before booking your first session.
Does Reiki hurt, and what does it feel like?+
It does not hurt. There is no pressure and no manipulation. People commonly describe warmth or tingling under the hands, deep relaxation, and sometimes an emotional release. Some feel little during the session and notice a shift over the following days. All of these are normal.
How many Reiki sessions will I need?+
That is discussed after the first session, once Taanya has met you and seen how you respond. Some people come once. Where Reiki is supporting recovery from grief, burnout or illness, a short series is often more helpful, but it is a judgement made with you, not a rule.
Is Reiki religious?+
No. Reiki has Japanese origins and a set of five ethical principles, but it is not a religion and asks for no belief. Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Christians and people with no religious belief at all receive it.
Can Reiki healing be done online?+
Yes. Distance Reiki is offered for clients outside South Delhi, elsewhere in India and abroad. You rest at home at an agreed time, with the conversation before and after by call or WhatsApp.
Do you also teach Reiki?+
Yes. Taanya teaches Reiki Level 1, Level 2 and Master level, in small groups at Anand Niketan and live online. The levels and attunements are described on the Reiki Classes in South Delhi page; this page is about receiving a session rather than learning.
What if I need urgent help?+
Reiki is a scheduled relaxation practice, not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or cannot stay safe, call Tele-MANAS on 14416 or KIRAN on 1800-599-0019, both free and available around the clock, or 112, or go to the nearest emergency department.
