What This Practice Can and Cannot Offer
This is a private counselling practice, not a crisis service. There is no 24-hour line here and no emergency cover between sessions. If you are at immediate risk, you need crisis services and quite possibly psychiatric care, and you will be told that plainly and helped to reach them.
Where counselling does help is alongside that: working on what is producing the thoughts, over time, once immediate safety is in place. Many people carry suicidal thoughts for months or years without being in acute danger, and that is very workable in therapy.

Talking About It Does Not Make It Worse
The most persistent myth here is that naming suicidal thoughts plants or encourages them. The evidence points firmly the other way. Being asked directly, by someone who does not flinch, is usually a relief.
Most people who are thinking about suicide have said nothing to anyone, often for a long time, because they expect panic, anger or hospitalisation. The silence is a large part of the danger.

If Someone Has Told You
- «Take it seriously; do not tell them they have everything to live for
- «Ask directly whether they are thinking of ending their life — the question does not put the idea there
- «Listen more than you talk, and resist the urge to fix it in one conversation
- «Ask whether they have a plan or means, and help remove access where you can
- «Stay with them if the risk feels immediate, and get professional help
- «Do not promise to keep it secret if they are in danger
- «Get support for yourself too; carrying this alone is very heavy

Questions & Answers
Everything you need to know before booking your first session.
Will I be hospitalised if I say this out loud?+
For most people, no. Hospitalisation is for situations of immediate, serious risk. The fear of it keeps a great many people silent, which is more dangerous than the conversation.
Is it confidential?+
Yes, with one limit explained at the start: where there is serious and immediate risk to your life, confidentiality may need to be broken to keep you safe. You would be told before any step is taken wherever possible.
I do not want to die, I just want it to stop.+
That is what most people mean, and it is an important distinction. Wanting unbearable pain to end is not the same as wanting to be dead — and the pain is what therapy works on.
Can I be supported online?+
Ongoing counselling, yes. Crisis support, no — use the numbers above, which are staffed around the clock and equipped for it.
