What Is and Is Not Claimed
Reiki is a relaxation and energy practice. What Gulf clients most often describe afterwards is a heaviness in the limbs, a slowing of the breath, and the first unbroken sleep in a while. Those reports are frequent enough to take seriously, and they are all that is claimed.
It is not claimed that Reiki cures, treats or heals any illness, and it must not be used to delay or replace anything a doctor has prescribed. If a practitioner in the Gulf or anywhere else tells you it can, that is a reason to find a different practitioner.
Where it fits is beside medical care rather than instead of it: through a course of treatment, through recovery, through grief, or across a long stretch of visa-and-salary stress that has left you running on nothing.
How a Distance Session Works
A time is fixed by WhatsApp. When it arrives you lie down somewhere you will not be disturbed, put your phone on silent, and rest for the agreed period. There is no technique to follow and no belief required. Falling asleep is common and is not a problem; the session continues either way.
Once it is over you receive a short message on what was noticed and anything worth paying attention to over the following days. You can reply with what you felt, or with nothing at all.
You can stay on a muted video call throughout if being seen helps you settle, or you can leave the screen off and simply rest. Gulf clients tend to choose the second, often because the session is held late enough to fall asleep during it.
Scheduling Across Gulf Time and IST
The UAE is an hour and a half behind India, which makes scheduling easier than for almost any other country this practice works with. A 10 pm session in Dubai is 11.30 pm in Delhi, still a workable hour. Most Gulf clients ask for a slot after 9 pm their time so they can receive the session as they go to sleep, and those slots are held on weekday and weekend evenings alike. Friday and Saturday, being the UAE weekend, are often preferred for a daytime session by people whose weekdays are long.
Reminders and any change of time are handled on WhatsApp at +91-9999344415. Because nothing has to be travelled to, a session can be moved at short notice if a work call runs late, which in Dubai it often does.
Why Distance Work Suits Dubai
Privacy, first. A great many people in the Emirates would rather not attend a wellness centre where they might be recognised, and distance work removes that concern completely.
Practicality, second. Traffic between emirates makes a weekly evening appointment in Dubai a real commitment for someone living in Sharjah or Ajman. Nothing has to be travelled to here.
And continuity. The arrangement survives a move to Abu Dhabi, a posting to Riyadh or Doha, or the return to India that many Gulf expats are always half planning.

Reiki Classes and Attunement
Reiki teaching and attunement up to Master level is available to students in the UAE at a distance, which is an accepted practice within the Usui lineage. Several Gulf students have taken Level One and Two this way before completing Master level in person during a trip to Delhi.
Levels One and Two are best separated by a few weeks of daily self-practice. Master level is a much larger undertaking and is discussed individually rather than offered as the next step on a list.

Does distance Reiki work as well as hands-on?+
Within the Usui tradition the two are held to be equivalent, and what clients report is similar. To be clear, that rests on people's accounts of their own experience, not on clinical trials, for hands-on and distance work alike.
Do I need to believe in it?+
No. Doubt is fine and is fairly common among the engineers, bankers and doctors who make up a good share of Gulf clients. All that is asked is that you actually stop and rest for the agreed time.
Can Reiki replace medical treatment?+
No. It is not a treatment for any disease and should never be used instead of medical care. Keep seeing your doctor and keep taking what has been prescribed.
Is this regulated in the UAE?+
Complementary therapies delivered inside the UAE fall under health-authority regulation. This practice operates from India and works at a distance, which places it outside that framework. That is stated plainly rather than left vague.
When are sessions held?+
At a time that suits you. India is only ninety minutes ahead of the UAE, so almost any hour works, including late evening if you would rather receive the session as you fall asleep.
How will I know anything happened?+
Warmth, heaviness or a clear drop in tension are the usual reports, and many people simply sleep. Some notice nothing during the session and sleep unusually well that night. Some notice nothing at all, and that is reported back honestly rather than talked up.
What if I am struggling and need more than this?+
Reiki is a relaxation practice. It is not a mental health service and it is not a crisis service. If you are genuinely struggling, counselling and clinical hypnotherapy are available here alongside the energy work.
